Higher Education Programming

  • Autism Campus Inclusion (ACI) summer leadership academy – ACI provides a weeklong training for autistic college students who want to create systems change on their campuses. ASAN covers travel and lodging for all participants to come to Washington, DC, where students learn about the disability rights movement and policy, culminating in a trip to Capitol Hill.


  • Books – ASAN has published two resources aimed towards improving the college experience of autistic students. These include Navigating College, a handbook written by and for autistic college students that offers advice to make college work for students with disabilities, and Empowering Leadership, a guide on how to engage in on-campus disability rights advocacy.


  • The Autistic Scholars Fellowship – Our annual college scholarship program, which supports autistic college student in becoming leaders of the disability rights advocacy movement on their campuses. Fellowship recipients are granted a one-time, $5000 scholarship, and receive technical assistance from ASAN in achieving their advocacy goals.
